Painting "A dog offering flowers" with pen and watercolors

When I was about to return home, I decided to give my mother a watercolor painting of mine. My mother liked the picture of a dog with flowers that I drew before, so I will draw it again with the same model.

The model is a very nice photo found on a copyright-free photo site.

Really nice photo!

Thanks to the author, Celine Sayuri Tagami.

I can't resist the moist feeling of this dog's eyes.

I will draw and paint based on this photo and make a work as a gift for my mother.

First, I drew a rough sketch with a pencil in my sketchbook.

Well, I know that the original photo is much better:D

I told myself that what is important is the gratitude put into the painting, and move on to the next process.

Take a photo of this sketch with a tablet, load it into a drawing app called "ibis Paint", and draw a line drawing while picking up the main lines with a stylus pen.

Yes, it's pretty good.

The eyes are important, this picture.

I did my best to make the dog's eyes look full of gratitude.

So next, print the line art and trace it on watercolor paper.

I always use Copic Multiliner 0.05mm for line drawings.

The watercolor paper is cut from TOUCH II pad 230g into A5 size.

Next, attach the resulting line drawing to the board with curing tape, and finally paint it.

For painting, My favorite transparent watercolors are Match Bright Color.

The colors are very vivid and beautiful.

Use plenty of water and start painting.

yes, I see....

Let's go on painting....

Well, I was able to draw something better than my image before painting.

Very good:)

Hmm, ideally, I would like to make the eyes a little more sparkly.

But no matter how much painting around with it from here, it's okay.

By the way, I mostly use Staedtler's water brush for painting.

I also used a watercolor pen of Kuretake this time.

I'm sure my mom would be happy with this work.

Okey now, I'm going home with it.
